Useful details before you start

Which PDF tasks suit FieldSori?

Use it for invoices, labels, registers, and other PDFs where the number, date, amount, name, code, or another field appears in roughly the same place on each page.

What exactly is exported to Excel?

Only values from the selected areas: each area becomes a column and each PDF page becomes a row. Page design and images are not transferred to Excel.

Which PDF documents work best?

PDFs with selectable text and consistently positioned fields work best. Recognition of scanned pages is experimental and may require manual review.

Can I use several fields?

Yes. Select up to three areas, choose text / code, number, or date for each one, and set their comparison priority.

What if one page contains a questionable value?

FieldSori marks the page as requiring attention. You can correct an occasional extracted value or deliberately keep the page at the end.

Are my documents uploaded to a server?

No. Documents are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to a FieldSori server. If you use the feedback form, the message and email address you provide are sent separately; documents cannot be attached to it.

What are the limits in the free version?

The Free Beta supports up to 50 PDF pages and 150 MB total per upload, or one Excel/CSV file with up to 2,000 data rows on the selected sheet and 50 MB. The limits may be reviewed after real beta usage.

Can I sort a PDF on my phone?

Area selection requires a mouse or trackpad, so PDF sorting is currently available on desktop only. On mobile, you can view how FieldSori works without uploading a file.
